Back story:
Meet Vance Phillips, Ramona Flower's 8th ex. Ramona and Phillips met in a community art class they had together. They quickly bonded with each other over their love for the colorful things in life, even with their mysterious slightly dark pasts. He has the power to make his paintings come to life with his paintbrush. He doesn't even need paper or canvas. He can paint on thin air.

Explanation:
The painting in the background is to illustrate his love for painting and Ramona. The outlining colors describe his feelings over time. Went from soft loving colors to more somber colors that stand for hatred because like all the others, she broke his heart, yet he still loves her. The VP in the corner of the painting is his initials/signature.

Also with the painting, I wanted to experiment in Bryan Lee O'Malley's style. =/ So yeah, Ramona as represented by O'Malley... I hope I did his style justice. oAo

His necklace is the number eight, but could also be the infinity sign. Vance believed Ramona and him would be together forever.

I really wish I was able to convey the idea that his paintbrush could bring his art to life. Maybe have had Ramona coming out of the painting. I don't know... It's too late now. I have so much other things to do that I can't work on this anymore, so I hope it's good enough.

I couldn't make a background that complimented the the drawing, so I just left it white.

This took me a total of 3 nights to do this. Starting around midnight and going until 4 am. So if you want to be technical, it took me about 12 hours to do this. Maybe a little bit more.

This is my first deviantart contest entry on the nearly 3 years I've been on here >w< I'm proud of it.
